City of Eutin, Germany
Eutin urban development is a good example of how a city, which is already benefiting from an exceptional situation, can sharpen its identity through targeted interventions and thus strengthens the identification of its citizens with the city and increases the attractiveness for visitors. In many places Eutin had turned her back on her picturesque position between two lakes. The measures have reinforced existing and new green areas with the water and interlinked. In this way, generous, newly laid-out axles in the Seepark, which continue into the water by way of bridges, create new visual connections and make the place a whole new experience. Creative sports and play tapes, picnic areas and the like also lessen the lack of offers for young people. As a staple between this, active space designed for active use and the historical, protected castle garden, the city bay lies. The promenade with its urban flair also connects with the nearby old town.
